Sad and pensive man looking down with his hand on his forehead

On top of all that, you may be overwhelmed with worry that:

•    Your child does not have friends.
•    Your child is not getting what she needs at school and is not progressing.
•    Your child is not safe.
•    Your child’s future may be unhappy – is he going to be able to take care of himself, will he have friends, can he have a job, a family…
•    Your other children aren’t getting the attention they need.

Whew – that’s a lot! Even if you only experience a few of these, it can weigh very heavily on you. One of the worst things you can do is to hold all these feelings inside and just keep going. Then you’re just barely getting by day-to-day as the stress mounts.
